tears? He can give you joy:)))

There were tears in her eyes…almost flowing but she was trying to stop it…then and there I knew she NEEDED the prayer I was offering her…I feel that SHE couldn’t believe it in her eyes that someone wanted to pray for her…that she was that important to God…she wanted the gift of everlasting life with God but she was very shy or maybe OVERWHELMED with Joy and cry in her heart that she just didn’t want to say anything…she probably didn’t know where to start…

I was hesitant at first because of the people around…”I AM NOT ASHAMED” isn’t Stancy?”…it was as if a voice was telling me…”you have to find a way to tell her that Jesus loves her and want to bless her”…You experienced the joy of being with Jesus…Don’t let them miss the party of being Saved from the Wages of Sin which is death from relationship with God…

She hasn’t declared it yet but I know she will…Pray for her…Maybe you are like her filled with problems and you need prayer…don’t hesitate to ask me…I will help you approach Him…He is just a prayer away…no matter where you are…

The Worthy Conqueror's Triumph

She was born into this world where everything was “beautiful” before; not anymore. She had grown to know this world as the cruelest place to be. Like in every child’s heart, she was a searching for never ending joy but everywhere she looked it seemed a never ending nightmare. Around her was every EVIL thing beyond her imagination. She herself is a VICTIM of this evil, she belong to a family being BROKEN by a WOMAN who took away the LOVE of their Father because of her HARLOTRY.

She did not know; her tears were never stilled but something inside her encouraged her to keep on HOPING and having faith that all of this will end. She knew could not do it but the one that had been with her through it all can and will.

Her Hope is not deferred; there is someone who is not pleased with her suffering; there is someone who is FAITHFUL AND TRUE that has done something to end her nightmare. He is the Worthy Conqueror, who was slain to give us our life back and live it to the full if we believe. He has already overcame evil when he was slain, now He will help us overcome those sufferings.

This SOMEONE judges and makes war through righteousness. There is NO ESCAPE for those that made this “beautiful” world CRUEL—the Great Dragon, master of deception, destroyer, murderer, thief, He is called the DEVIL and SATAN. He will be bound for a thousand years and can deceive nations no more and in these thousand years those who chose to become FOLLOWERS OF THE WORTHY CONQUEROR—THE LAMB THAT WAS SLAIN—FAITHFUL AND TRUE—THE WORD OF GOD will REIGN with Him, these followers were not deceived by Satan and the beast to put mark on their foreheads and wrists. Satan will be released after a thousand years and while he deceives people, he will be devoured by the fire that will come out of heaven from God. He, the beast, and the false prophet will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone: There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

The Worthy Conqueror will put an end to this cruelty. Then there will be a NEW BEGINNING for everything--everything will be made beautiful again; no more death, suffering, sorrow, pain, and crying; it will be all never ending joy.

Like her, you must hope and believe in the Worthy Conqueror’s saving power overcome all deception to the end. Your hope would not be deferred too.

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” –Revelations 21:8

Your Beloved People: Khmer (Cambodians)
By Constance Jane A. Tupe
I was walking down the street thanking You
For what You’ve done displays the great You
I was sitting with my family laughing
For You gave us the joy to stop crying
I was riding happy to be one of Your beloved
For You called me one of Your beloved people
I was lying on my bed full of comfort and love
For you are the giver of our comfort and love
I was crying my frustrations to my friends
For You have changed our plans into something new
I was feeling disappointed every time there’s few
For You have a different answer to our prayers
I was thinking we were the only ones
But there are also people in need of the Only One
I am sorry we haven’t thought they are Your beloved too
When all the while we have thought only of ourselves
We have kept You only to ourselves
Not realizing they are also Your Beloved
Your Beloved People, They are also Your Beloved
Forgive us for keeping You only to ourselves
Our Amazing God We are not too late
You have called us to Your beloved People
Our God we have the chance of our fate
You have brought us to Your Beloved People
We should have thought that they are the Khmer
When we were just satisfied with our lives
Thank You for using us Your Beloved People
We were able to minister to Your Beloved Khmer
You removed selfishness from our hearts
To share You to Your Beloved People
You led us to minister to the Khmer hearts
They too are Your Beloved People
We are Your beloved people and the Khmer too
We are Your beloved people and the Khmer too
Thank You for bringing us to Your beloved people
Thank You for letting us show them You love them

----God inspired me to write this for all of YOu------He is amazing!---missing you all!

Timor-Leste

In 1975, 72% of the population of East Timor are animists. Until today Animism spiritualism is very influential among the Timorese.

Animism is a doctrine that the vital principle of organic development is immaterial spirit ;attribution of conscious life to objects in and phenomena of nature or to inanimate objects; belief in the existence of spirits separable from bodies as defined in Merriam Webster's Dictionary. Animism is spirit worship; it is to live with or manipulate worship.

There are different ways of animism through manipulation of spirits. These ways are the power of words, deception, appeasement, protective measures, and direct demonization.

Despite the spreading of the Catholic religion brought by the Portuguese in East Timor the Timorese maintained high beliefs in spirit worship.

Animist religion in East Timor revolves around the spirits of the dead who are both feared and worshipped.
These spirits are materialized through stones, animals, wells, streams or objects endowed with mysterious magical powers that can be either good or evil.
In Timor these are called ‘Luliks’, which means sacred and intangible
(http://www.gov.east-timor.org/index.php).

Sometimes we don't realize that we also believe in animism or even support it by buying stuff like anting anting, agimat, gayuma, etc.. Let us be careful and watch-out that we do not be deceived by animistic practices. Remember Joshua 24:15, "And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Are you going to choose to serve our real God and choose to believe what He says or are you going to believe in these animistic practices. I hope you will do what the people of Ephesus did when they found about God and believed Him, those who practiced magic, burned their books and the Word God prevailed (Acts 19:19-20).

What do you choose? As for me I choose to believe what God says in His Word and I will serve Him only.

It starts with ONE thing: FAMILY

The Filipinos of the Ancient times had great moral values. But now we ask the question, "What has happened to our society today that the morality of the Filipino people degrades?" It all starts with one thing the FAMILY.

According to our guest in our class this morning, Dr. Narciso V. Matienzo, the reason why the Filipinos of the ancient times were of good character and values (hard-worker, respectful to the elderly, obedient, kind, etc. ) is that because their parents trained and disciplined them to be. During those times the parents train their children about household chores and raised them up to be hard working. Prov. "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he shall not depart from it." Because the parents of the ancient times did not neglect to train, teach their children, and direct them to the right path the children grew up to be well-mannered, having good moral standards, and has very great potential in doing job well done.

It grieves me whenever I think of the way of life of the Filipino children of today. IT ALL STARTED WITH THE FAMILY. Today there are many dysfunctional families composing of single moms, divorced parents, abusive parents, young parents, etc. I believe this happens not only in the Philippines but also in other parts of the World but we must start with our country. Many people enter marriage unprepared which causes them to be permissive, authoritarian, and neglectful parents. We cannot put back time for these dysfunctional families but we can prevent more from coming by starting the change.

To restore the degrading moral values of the Filipinos, the change must start in our own families. It is never too late to change for the better.

God bless the Philippines....Go for a restored sense of morality!

The Missing Ingredient...

I have always been interested in cooking ever since I was young. I have many experiences of successful and unsuccessful cooking but nevertheless I enjoy it all the time because I learn a lot. Through cooking I am able to express my feelings of creativity, love, passion, dreams, and hopes for the future. There's just some kind of joy I feel whenever I cook. Unexplainable. On the other hand I feel disappointed if the people that tastes the food I prepared did not look happy after eating; it feels like failing to give them a share of the joy I have.

Did you know that...

CHICKEN RICE is the closest thing to comfort food for many Singaporeans - a pale but deceptively flavorful rice dish served with ginger mash, chili lime sauce, and sweet black soy sauce.
Chicken is poached in a broth containing herbs, garlic, chicken bones, and assorted spices. When the chicken is done, the broth is then used to cook the rice together with pandan leaves and garlic. The resulting rice is yellowish and fatty, thanks to the juices left over from the chicken.
Chicken rice usually comes with cucumbers on the side, and (for an extra charge) you can also have it with braised beancurd, braised egg, chicken liver, or vegetables in oyster sauce(http://goseasia.about.com/od/singaporepeopleculture/ig/Ten-Singapore-Dishes/Hainanese-Chicken-Rice.htm) P.S. Just Check the picture in this website, can't post it.

Have you tasted any food that seemed to miss an ingredient? You feel like looking for some kind of spice to complete that GREAT TASTE you were expecting.

I believe cooking is just like building relationships; all ingredients must be intact and none should be missing. In building relationships whether it be at your home, your work, abroad, your school, if there's a missing ingredient the relationships won't end up GREAT. Love is one of the ingredients we always forget to use when our relationships end in conflicts and misunderstandings. You have to have enough LOVE which can only come from God to build good relationships and heal wounds. You especially need this when you're doing a ministry cross-culturally. 1 John 4:11 tells us about loving one another because God loved us. If you will read the whole chapter you will find out that true love comes only from God because He is love. Remember this,

"Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. "-1 John 4:11-12

Singapore is one of the places we can share our love to others. If you visit this place you will find it very interesting because it is composed of the Chinese, Malays, Indians, etc. (http://www.everyculture.com/Sa-Th/Singapore.html)

The IMPOSSIBLE can become POSSIBLE.

Did you know that...
Brunei Flag-
The national flag is a yellow field of two trapeziums with a white diagonal parallelogram stripe above a black diagonal parallelogram stripe, representing the offices of the first vizier (a Muslim official), the Pengiran Bendahara, and the third vizier, the Pengiran Pamancha. These were the only vizier offices occupied in 1906, when the first British resident took up occupancy. The flag is emblazoned in the center by the state crest in red, which was added in 1959. The crest is composed of a flag and royal umbrella; four feathers symbolizing the protection of justice, tranquillity, prosperity, and peace; two hands representing the government's pledge to promote welfare, peace, and prosperity; and a crescent symbolizing Islam and inscribed in Arabic "Always in service with God's guidance"; with a scroll inscribed in Arabic letters, Brunei Darussalam ("Brunei the Abode of Peace").

Are you Careful Enough?

Many of us are not careful of our word of Honors. We often make promises and break them because we tend to follow the saying, "Promises are meant to be broken". But hey don't forget you are a Christian, exceptional being, you do it the other way around. Promises are meant to be fulfilled or else you'll bear consequences of losing the trust you have invested on. Are you careful enough?
The ASEAN or what we call the Association of Southeast Asian Nations remind us how important it is to fulfill the duties of the treaties you signed.
Did you know that Association of Southeast Asian Nations is composed of ten countries as the ten yellow lines in the logo signifies? The ten countries are Brunei Darusallam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Burma, Laos, Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, and Thailand. This Association was established in 1967 with an "...aim to accelerate economic growth, social progress and cultural development in the region and to promote regional peace and stability through the rule of law and adherence to the principles of the United Nations Charter " (http://www.dfat.gov.au/asean/index.html). Summing up it focuses on promoting peace and diplomacy and also encourage developed countries to help the undeveloped countries rise in their economic status. In this association it is always important to keep your word because everything is in paper.
There are many instances in the Bible that agreements and peace talks were formed. Most of them between God and man agreements. We need to understand that whenever a treaty is formed it should not be broken or else there are great consequences. E.g. is God's treaty with the Israelites in Deutoronomy 7:12-15,

"12
If you completely obey these laws, the LORD your God will be loyal and keep the agreement he made with you, just as he promised our ancestors. 13The LORD will love you and bless you by giving you many children and plenty of food, wine, and olive oil. Your herds of cattle will have many calves, and your flocks of sheep will have many lambs. 14God will bless you more than any other nation--your families will grow and your livestock increase. 15You will no longer suffer with the same horrible diseases that you sometimes had in Egypt. You will be healthy, but the LORD will make your enemies suffer from those diseases."
Making treaties are the same with making promises. As Christians who are reaching out to the world we must be careful on the words of promises we say. We must be careful to keep our word of honor so as not to destroy the name of Christ. Do not promise anything if you're not sure if you can fulfill it. It is better to say no than to promise and not fulfill because you save the person from being hurt, disappointed, and offended by you. Let your yes be yes and your no be no.
Are you careful Enough with the words that you say? It's time to WATCH OUT! If you're friends are used to breaking promises MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND START FULFILLING YOUR PROMISES.

Ladies first? not in Malaysia!

I am always pleased whenever I see a Gentleman. Most women in the Philippines or maybe in other parts of the world love it when men volunteer to carry their stuff, open the door for them, offer them a seat when seen standing, etc. The saying, "Ladies first" describes it all. This saying does not go for all cultures.

Did you know that in Malaysia Men are the most respected. They are given priority in everything.

How do you feel now? You shouldn't be shocked when you go to Malaysia or meet a Malaysian man.

We women consider men not chivalrous when they don't give us priority. But aren't we all supposed to be gentle to each other? Don't you think sometimes we're too much selfish when we think, "They are men, we must be first, first, first". Don't get me wrong here guys my point is we must treat each other with gentleness; equal. No one higher than the other in terms of helping one another.

I do not neglect the fact that for married people, we know that wives are to submit to their husbands and husbands should love their wives. (Colossians 3:18-19). The role of men is to work for their family while women is to take care of the children and do household chores as well as cook for their husbands and children. This is still equality. Men do for women what only men can do while women do for men what they only can do.

In Genesis 1:26-27 shows how God created man and woman equal.

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves." -Philippians 2:3

This is a reminder, Let us consider others better than ourselves; it is only then that we will be able to treat them with gentleness and respect.

What is your Fashion Statement?

Clothing is one of the most important determiners of culture; It defines a person or a society. What is your fashion statement? I personally love doing something different with my clothing to create fashion. Fashion is something you can't take away from me because it's been my dream since I was a kid to dress up differently. To dress up and have your own style even if it's not the popular style.

Did you know that the Indonesians have a creative way of designing clothes called batik. batik comes from the Indonesian-Malay word "titik" which means to dot. Indonesia is known to be the heart of Batik(http://www.asiawelcome.com/Batik_02.html). Batik is a way of painting and coloring textile and in Indonesia the designs has reached uniqueness and is unequaled with other batiks. Indonesian batik is made is several regions but it centers in Central Java, such as cities like like Yogyakarta, Solo, Cirebon, Pekalongan and Indramayu. These batik come in different designs like flowers, butterflies, leaves buds, birds, twinning plants, insects, fish, and geometric forms. The beauty of batik is a tribute to patience, creativity of the women of Java and some credits are given to men who prepare the cloth, dyeing, and finishing process(http://discover-indo.tierranet.com/batikpag.htm). Here's an example of a city in Central Java that uses batik in their textile.

Solo Indonesia has two rules in wearing Batik: 1. Depends on the social position of the wearer 2. The occasion on which the batik was worn or used. This was in connection with the meaning and hope or wish symbolized by the motif (http://discover-indo.tierranet.com/batikpag.htm).

What is your
fashion statement?
Whatever that is it comes from the gift of Creativity God has given us. Whatever clothing we use we must remember that the most important thing in life is how we fashion our lives. Is it according to what the world and the society dictates or is it according to God's fashion. If your life is not yet fashioned by your creator then now is the time to surrender all of your life to him. For the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:31, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God".

Are you ready to shine His light and stand out in the crowd? Make Jesus your fashion statement. If you have Him, Flaunt Him.

INDONESIA NEEDS HIM. YOUR FELLOW MEN NEEDS HIM. EVERYONE NEEDS HIM.

Unused Power

Have you been neglecting the Power God has given you as a Christian? The power of prayer! God expects us to pray.

We are privileged to pray for our nation and for other nations as well. Cambodia is one of the South-east Asian countries who needs our prayers because only a few of them can pray for their land. We are Filipinos who live in a free country, we can pray, go to church, have Bible studies, whenever we want to but how about those who never even knew who Jesus is. If they are not given the chance to know someone that loves them very much they are given to live in the traditional way of worshiping different gods. The Han Chinese, one of the inhabitants of Cambodia remain in bondage to superstition and false religion. They need Christians who will pray for them and introduce them to Jesus Christ, the One who can truly set them free. They need YOU, ME, US, CHRISTIANS to constantly pray for them and have a heart to reach them.
The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 7:14,
"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

I invite you to pray right now,
1.Pray that the Lord will grant favor to the missions agencies that are targeting the Diaspora Han Chinese.
2.Ask the Holy Spirit to soften the hearts of the Han Chinese towards the Gospel message.
3.Pray that the small number of Han Chinese believers will begin to share the love of Jesus with their own people.
4.Pray that God will reveal Himself to these precious people through dreams and visions.
5.Pray that Christian broadcasts, evangelical literature, and the Jesus film will be effective tools for reaching the Diaspora Han Chinese.
6.Ask God to use Christian businessmen to boldly share the Good News with the Han Chinese.
7.Take authority over the spiritual principalities and powers that are keeping the Han Chinese bound.
8.Ask the Lord to raise up strong local churches among the Diaspora Han Chinese.

Use Your Power, Pray...Don't take the opportunity for granted to pray for your own desires, needs, goals, and dreams. Pray for others who need JESUS. Don't let your power rust.

"Now I realized you can be satisfied with one woman"

THAILAND!

Did you know that Kings in Thailand marry more than one woman so they could have many children. Through this children who are educated in the palace grounds loyalty of the people of Thailand will be maintained in the kingdom. The more children the bigger the possibility that the Kingdom will be preserved.

This is one of the things you have to address in a culture; polygamy. Many asian countries allow men to practice polygamy.

As a woman, I wouldn't want to have a husband who has different wives other than me. Of course, who among us would want that. It would make our self-esteem lower and lower. We all want the man that we marry to be satisfied with one woman (ourselves).

Anna and the King is a very good movie that shows how polygamy affected the lives of the women being trapped in this situation. Tuptim, a woman who was taken away from her love to be married to the king has suffered being in that situation. She could have had a happy family together with the person she loves but then she was forcibly brought to the king as a new wife. She was even tortured to death for escaping from the palace.

On the other hand, Anna, who was the teacher of the king's children fell in love with the king. The king fell in love with her the same way because she had a very good heart for the children and others. The problem is that Anna is a Christian. According to the Bible God has purposed one man for one woman only. Anna believes that marriage is very sacred and should only be between one man and one woman.

With all the romanticism and sweetness of the compliments of the king Anna decided not to continue a romantic relationship with the king and go to England with her son instead. She stood by the principles of God and did not base her decisions by her feelings. It could be hard and hurtful but she did the right thing.

Then and there that the king realized that he could be satisfied even with one woman.

"Now I realized that I can be satisfied with one woman"

Our life is the best exemplary to bring the message of righteousness and satisfaction towards following God's command.

Live a life that would inspire others and make them want to leave pagan practices behind. Be the change you want to see.

Waishama Language is important?

To adopt one’s culture it is always nice to know the basics of their language. If you’ve watched “The Ramen Girl”, you will get an idea why language is important. In that movie you will see how the main character struggled in understanding her Japanese boss’ instructions because she doesn’t understand Japanese language.
Vietnam is a very significant place in our family because it is where my Mom and Dad met each other. My father was a missionary there in 1971. Here are a few basic things that they did to be able to communicate with the people and share the gospel:
1. Because they don’t know the Vietnamese language in the beginning they had to look for interpreters.
2. When they have no more interpreters, they found the teachers who know very little English so they had to speak very slow so the teachers could interpret it to the students.
3. When they found another interpreter from the group of believers, my mom, who was single at that time, found out that there were twisted interpretations.
4. My Mom, who is a linguist, gave my dad and the other missionaries, tapes of Vietnamese language to listen to. The listening helped them be familiar with the sounds of the language.
5. They familiarized themselves with the Vietnamese words in buying food, riding transportations, and asking directions.

Trivia: Vietnamese language is very confusing because one word has different meanings depending on how it was pronounced. For example, bia which means book cover and at the same time with different tone means to invent, fabricate, create, make up. another is bien means to write down, note down, jot down and it also means edge, border, limit, boundary, frontier in a different tone.

In the Bible, we can see the story of the Tower of Babel when God confused the people by giving them different languages. Because when the people could understand each other they thought they could reach God but they were wrong. The language confusion caused them to have a hard time to communicate with each other. The opportunity of the people of Babel to have the same language could have helped them to be able to do good things but they did what is evil. Today, we can turn the plates around by being familiar with another culture’s language and use it as an opportunity to share the gospel to them. Then they will know the good things God has done for them and worship Him.
